Pope St. John Paul II’s Challenge to Our Church:The Inspiration for Walking with Moms in Need
Pregnant or parenting moms and families “in need” are in our parishes and our neighborhoods. As Pope Francis reminds us, our parishes need to be “islands of mercy in the midst of the sea of indifference.” Everyone in our parish community should know where to refer a pregnant mother in need.
In order to assess, expand, and better communicate resources to local pregnant moms and families, St. Francis and St. Clare parishes are joining a nationwide effort entitled: “Walking with Moms in Need.”
We invite all parishioners to participate as we embark on this journey together. You can join us in praying the “Prayer for Pregnant Mothers” and look for the “Prayer Guides” that will be available each month.
Please see the bulletin and our digital media sites during the year for more information and to ensure you receive updates. We are in Phase 1 of this 5-Phase initiative and are currently expanding our “Support Network”. To find out how you can be more involved in our parish-wide effort, please contact Cil (cecilia@saintfrancisparish.net or 724-822-0614).
