Volunteer Worksheet
The Picnic Worksheet, asking for your volunteer time, and vegetable and dessert donations, is available in the vestibule. The Picnic is the Parish’s largest single fundraiser; and it takes months of planning and many hardworking hands to make it a success. If you can’t work the day of the picnic, there are tasks that need tended to prior to the event. Review the worksheet and share your talents!
Picnic Day Harvest
The following vegetables are needed: cabbage, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, carrots, and peppers. Don’t forget beets for pickling, but those are needed well before the picnic so Ruth Ann can work her magic! If you can help, fill out the donation section of the worksheet and let us know what we can expect the week of August 11.
DESSERTS!
Pies are the most popular, but cakes, cupcakes, and your specialty are all welcome. Think about what you want to share: maybe start NOW and throw them in the freezer. (It will be really hot with that oven on in August!)
Chinese Auction Baskets
There’s not as much time left as you think! NOW is the time to organize a Chinese Auction basket or two. Parishioners have always been so generous and creative with basket donations and we are counting on that again this year. Questions to Joyce Geibel at 724-285-1350.
Kitchen Chairperson(s)
The Picnic is in need of a chairperson or chairpersons for the Kitchen. The kitchen plans for 1,800-2,000 delicious dinners, and earns the most revenue for the Church on that day. Planning and ordering starts NOW. Contact the Parish Office at 724-287-0820.
Posters and Yard Signs
Do you know of a location where you can advertise the Picnic? Posters and yard signs available soon. Please place in a well-traveled area.
